Do You Have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Pamamanhid ng Kamay? Check This Out!

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or in Tagalog, Pamamanhid ng Kamay, is normally diagnosed for people who drive, who writes a lot, and those people whose work normally needs the use of their hands. It is characterized by being numb in the palm area of your hand because of the constant pinching of the Median Nerve, which is located in the wrist.

There are simple ways to treat the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and you better check them below!

  • Make sure to rest your hand every hour of your work. Also when you're resting, make sure to place your hand in an elevated position for a much better circulation of blood in your nerves.
  • If you feel that your hand is starting to get numb, don not bend the affected area. You can use a splint, but don't ever use a bandage because it will affect the blood flow. You can use tape in the splint instead.
  • To reduce the swelling, put an ice pack for a good 15 minutes.
  • Decrease the use of salt in the food that you eat.
  • Do special exercises for Carpal Tunnel!
