A professor at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta named Jamie MacKelfresh stated that the "Acne on the buttocks is not like the acne you get on your face, chest, or back."

There are 2 common issues if you have an outbreak of acne on your buttocks and these are:

The American Academy of Family Physicians had explained that these acne are more painful and would go deeper in the skin, which results from an uncontrollable folliculitis, to a deeper and more serious infection.

Folliculitis is the outbreak of acne which was caused by the inflammation of hair follicles, which typically is from an infection from a bacteria, yeast, fungus, blockage of hair follicles, or even the irritation of hair follicles. You can have folliculitis in any part of your body that has hair on it. Normally folliculitis grows on the beard area, arms, back, legs, and buttocks.

The good thing is that there are a few steps in which you can get rid the annoying acne and blemishes on your buttocks.

1. Watch what you Eat/Diet

Diet that contains a high percentage of processed foods and refined sugar can contribute to the formation of acne. However, if you consume foods that only contains natural, healthy fats that can help to make your skin stay healthy and clear. You can try adding Avocados, Coconut Oil, and Tree Nuts in your diet.

2. Exfoliation

There are several types of exfoliating brushes on the market, and each of them has a different level or roughness. Find the right brush to eliminate the pimples on your buttocks.

3. Allowing the Skin to Breathe

Don't wear super tight clothes because this causes the skin to sweat and it allows the bacteria to infect the pores. That's why you should change your clothes everyday, especially if you've sweated a lot. It is important to make your skin stay dry and healthy.
